NX License Error: License server system does not support this version of this feature. [ -25 ]

NX fails to start and the following message is displayed:

This error indicates that the features in the license file are for an older version of NX than that being started. For example, this message will be encountered if a session of NX 1980 Series is trying to use a license file for NX 1953 Series.

The PACKAGE and/or INCREMENT line in the license contains a number indicating the highest release of NX that can use the license feature. For example, the INCREMENT line below is for NX version 37.0, which equates to NX 1953 Series:

                       user_info="Mechatronics Concept Designer" ISSUED=11-dec-2020 \         

NX1980 Series requires a '38.0' license feature.

The license file feature number increments by one for each new Major/Functional Release of NX.

Solution

There are several ways to obtain a license file for latest/required version of NX:

1. Download it from the Support Center https://support.sw.siemens.com

2. Contact your Account Administrator or the Technical Support team by logging a Support Case via the Support Center or by calling your local support telephone number obtained via https://account.sw.siemens.com/en-US/contacts or by accessing the Global Directory.
